What we collect
When you use artefacts, we collect and store:
- Your email address (via Google Sign-In) for authentication
- URLs, images, videos, and metadata of content you explicitly save
- Tags and organizational data you create
How we use your data
Your data is used solely to provide the artefacts service — storing, organizing, and displaying your saved content. We do not sell, share, or use your data for advertising.
Browser extension
The artefacts browser extension:
- Stores an authentication token locally in your browser to maintain login state
- Only activates when you explicitly trigger a save (click, keyboard shortcut, or context menu)
- Sends saved URLs to the artefacts API over HTTPS
- Does not track browsing history or collect data in the background
Data storage and security
All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Your content is stored on servers in the EU (Hetzner, Finland).
Data deletion
You can delete individual items from your collection at any time. To delete your entire account and all associated data, contact us at the email below.
Third-party services
- Firebase Authentication (Google) — for sign-in
- Jina AI — for generating embeddings used in semantic search (only URLs and titles are sent, not file contents)
- Paddle — for subscription billing
